Thank you for shopping with us!
With a very heavy heart, we are no longer able to ship orders to the United States.
Due to new U.S. import policy and compliance requirements coming into effect on July 8, 2026, shipping our products across the border has become unworkable for a small Canadian company like ours. What was once a simple parcel shipment now involves extensive customs documentation, electronic filing requirements, product classification review, hours of paperwork per order, and import brokerage fees that can exceed what any reasonable customer or small business should be expected to absorb.
The result is devastatingly simple: we can no longer ship to our U.S. customers in a way that is reliable, affordable, or sustainable.
These kinds of regulatory systems do not affect all businesses equally. Large multinational corporations have entire departments, brokers, compliance teams, and legal resources to absorb this burden. Small independent makers do not. When rules become so complex and costly that only the largest companies can realistically comply, customers do not gain more protection — they lose choice.
You lose the ability to choose whatever products you want.
You lose access to independent, small-batch products created outside the mass-market system — products where ingredients are evaluated through the lens of human health, environmental impact, transparency, and integrity, not just cost, shelf life, scalability, and profit.
You lose the ability to support small, values-driven businesses outside the world of Big Consumer.
And increasingly, you are pushed back toward products owned, diluted, or controlled by the same handful of multinational corporations lining the shelves of every major retailer.
We believe deeply that people should have the freedom to choose what they bring into their homes, what they put on their skin, and which businesses they support. These changes make that freedom smaller.
We are heartbroken.
We love you, appreciate you and are deeply sorry for what you've been going through. Your orders, messages, reviews, and encouragement have meant more to us than we can possibly say. We are so sorry that your ability to choose Elva’s has effectively been taken away by a system that increasingly favors the biggest companies over independent makers and conscious consumers.
We hope this is not goodbye forever. Should the opportunity arise to ship to the United States again in a way that is fair and workable for small businesses, we would be overjoyed to return.
